Grady Baseball Wins First Regional Series, 2-1

Grady varsity baseball began regional series play last week, taking two of three games against Banneker. Grady came out strong in the first game with a decisive 10-0 victory, followed by a 9-2 win the next night. In the third match up, Banneker came on strong handing Grady a 7-4 loss. The regional games followed a non-regional season opener against North Atlanta — Grady recorded two losses in the doubleheader.

Team highlights through the first five games:

Junior Lyndon Weaver has recorded 18 at bats with 9 hits, including a homerun, for a .500 average.

Sophomore Ben Lepik has recorded 15 at bats with 6 hits, including a double and a triple, for a .400 average.

Defensively, senior pitcher Jack Bannon has logged 18 strikeout through 12 innings.

Grady takes on regional opponent Lithia Springs this week: Monday, 3/6 away, Wednesday, 3/8 at home (Crim) and Friday, 3/10 away.
