Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Season Ends in First Round of State Tournament

Statesboro, GA – The Varsity Volleyball team traveled four hours in the rain to Statesboro High School on Saturday October 19 for their first round match in the GHSA State Tournament. Despite a solid effort, the Knights fell 3-0 to the Loganville Red Devils, thus ending a successful 2019 season.

Grady battled back from a 1-11 start to the year to finish 18-23 overall and 5-2 in Region 6-AAAAA play, earning the #3 seed out of the region behind Riverwood and Decatur. Among the team’s accomplishments was a first place finish in the APS Tournament on September 28 and a third place finish in Sandy Creek’s Pinkout Tournament on September 21.

The Knights will lose senior starters Lucy Bertsch and Sadie Mothershed but should return a strong group of Varsity contributors and JV newcomers in 2020.
