Coed Varsity Swimming · Swimmers Launch 2019-2020 Season

Grady kicked off the 2019-2020 season Saturday at the 7th Annual Kickoff Classic Saturday at Washington Park Natatorium.

Twenty-two teams competed, including some of the best and biggest in Georgia.

Among 4a-5a schools, the girls placed 1st, the boys 5th, and the team placed 3rd in the combined score.

Freshman Jory Richardson won the 100 backstroke and broke a Grady team record in the process. Grady notched three 2nd place finishes – Maggie Watkins in the 200 freestyle, Wyatt Schroeder in the 500 free and the 400 free relay of Richardson, Schroeder, Watkins, and Ariana Ramsey.

Grady Top Ten times were notched by Liam Bray (x2), Kai McHale (x2), Alex Gettig, Keaton Tsepas Bucciero, Jory Richardson (x2), Wyatt Schroeder, Sarah Prevost (x2) and Ariana Ramsey (x2). Liam, Jory, Wyatt and Maggie all qualified for the State Meet in individual events.

As stated above, this was a quality meet with some of Georgia’s fastest swimmers, so simply scoring at the meet is a feat worth noting.
