Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Splits Home Matches

The Varsity Volleyball team took on a pair of Region 6AAAAA opponents at Grady Tuesday night and came away with one win and one loss. Grady made quick work of Lithia Springs in the first match, besting the Lions 2-0 (25-4, 25-13), but struggled against Chapel Hill in the second match of the evening for both teams. The Knights dropped Game 1 25-16 and fell behind 7-0 early in Game 2. Despite a strong comeback by Grady, the Panthers prevailed 25-22 in Game 2 and finished off the 2-0 victory.

The loss moves Grady into a tie for second place with Chapel Hill in the Region 6AAAAA standings behind North Springs. However, with the region schedules for both teams complete, the head-to-head victory gives Chapel Hill the tie-breaker over Grady and locks the Knights in at third. They have non-region matchups at home this week against Mays on Thursday and Paideia on Friday for Senior Night, then will compete in the Region 6AAAAA Tournament starting on Thursday, October 8.
